The Need

People with disabilities in the Dominican Republic often have little to no access to the support they need. In a culture where community is central to daily life, many are left isolated in their homes, unable to fully participate in relationships, church, or public spaces.

Stigma and misunderstanding can lead families to feel shame or pressure to hide a loved one’s disability. As a result, many families remain disconnected from the church—either because of physical barriers or fear of judgment—missing out on the community and hope they were created for.

The Story

In the Gospels, we see a powerful picture of what true faithful friends look like.

A paralyzed man longed to be near Jesus but could not get there on his own. When the crowd blocked the way, his friends refused to give up. They carried him to the house, tore through the roof, and lowered the man down before Jesus.

Before anything else, Jesus noticed their faith.

Those friends were willing to do whatever it took to remove the barriers in front of that man so he could meet Jesus. At GO Ministries, we want to be like those faithful friends—people who overcome every obstacle and create pathways for others to encounter Jesus.
