Hato del Yaque is a city on the outskirts of Santiago. Its population is 24,000 people. In 1979 Hurricane David hit the island and many residents were built in Hato Del Yaque for those who lost their homes because of the flooding damage caused by this storm. The community saw a spike in the population during the years to follow. Hate del Yaque has a combination of those working in agriculture, factories, and retail. Being on the outskirts of Santiago people have access to agricultural employment and access to the jobs in the city. The church in the community was started in 2001 in a very small house. It has approximately 50 members. The facility has a nutrition program that provides meals for 85 children daily. It also has a dormitory, basketball court, and baseball field. This is a one of the ministry hubs for GO Ministries with housing for staff and interns.
